Today, we are going to dive into offering promos and giveaways as well as a few other tricks such as geotagging.
Approximately 41% of Instragrammers say that they follow brands to have access to giveaways or exclusive offers.
Once, you’ve built trust with a strong customer base, make sure you give your followers access to special offers and deals.
All you need to do is add some overlaid text announcing your sale or discount to a photo that matches your overall theme.
Apps like PicLab, Over, or Canva are free and let you create these professional-looking images easily.
Just make sure that you don’t add too many of these posts to your feed! If you bombard your followers with promotional deals, they will lose trust and interest in your brand.
Another way to drive sales is through geotagging your events.
On Instagram, posts that include geotagging receive 79% more engagement than those that don’t.
Not only does geotagging boost engagement, it can easily drive sales by showing your customer your store’s location.
This feature allows your followers to know where they can find your products, try them or purchase them!
If you’re selling your products at an event, geotagging is a must!
You can use geotagged posts as a form of invitation. Invite your customers to your location and they’ll show up to purchase!
If your company doesn’t appear at many events or doesn’t have any coming up soon, another way to increase sales is through contests.
On Instagram, you are developing relationships. Any strong relationship is symbiotic—you gain value from them, they gain value from you.
A great way to create value for your followers is by running contests.
The more value that your customers receive from you, the more willing they will be to purchase from you and return again and again.
The first thing you must do when running a contest is to decide what you want to give away to the winner.
Make sure that your giveaway item is related to your brand, industry and product. If you’re an ice cream company, don’t give away a flat screen TV!
If you can use your own product within the giveaway, that’s ideal! This way, you can exhibit how desirable your products are to other potential customers.
Next, post an image of the giveaway prize and announce the contest, the rules and the deadlines.
Using one of the text overlay tools, like Canva, is a quick and easy way to create the post.
Right before the contest ends, post again to remind your followers!
Last thing to do is pick a winner. Then, post a photo announcing the winner and congratulate them within your post!
Now that you’ve built trust with your follower base and you’ve made your product appear desirable, it’s time to discuss marketing your products without looking like you’re posting an ad.
That will do it for today. Tomorrow, we will deliver the final piece of this mini-series on creating a profitable Instagram account. We will be looking at ads, shopping experiences, posting schedules and more.
